Me Too
Me too
Time has crept upon me as I age
Creates an actor in a brand new stage
Into a scenic setting to behold
To play the starring role of growing old
Virlity has come to leave the scene
for Wisdom arrives to become the mein
philosophy bestowed as ancient pearls
So Millenials will become inured
I’m a sage who sits on a mountaintop
overlooking the future of this time
bemoaning the fact that the world has changed
A world that I knew has been rearranged
To offer my words citing metaphors
and dispel all the demons that prevail
With one objective that lay in my mind
The fate of womanhood not decline
To be subserviant and engage.
The wants of men for eons past
And adjectives that came to last
Harass, abuse and violation
Beauty and respect go hand in hand
And as a woman I can feel
The hero in me longs to say
Now women’s words are made of steel
