Me Seeking Serenity

A poem by me,
perhaps serenity,
but thinking all the while,
poetic serenity
makes me smile.

Then some silly simile
invades the space,
and even active denial
of poetic paternity
puts a frown on my face.

When it hits me,
like an "as" out of place,
an inert referal
to moronic modernity,
invading more of my space.

It is not my poem
that will make me serene,
but the calming thought of creation,
through poetic humanity,
that brings the smile back to my face.
