Me Against the World

Verse 1: I don't want to be the one that got away I swear you like the wind every night and day Katy Perry is on the radio and I'm wondering how it's like to be in her shoes I wish I was like Johnny Cash or Elvis Presley, singing those silly blues Lying to myself that everything's alright, But, based on reality's truth, it's the total opposite I feel His spirit around me day and night He leaves me with no regrets and it's so exquisite Pre-chorus: I don't want you to consider me as the one that got away I lost all hopes and trying to help this heart that beats so much and it's led astray Messaging friends all night long Till my eyes begin to swelter and grow so fatigued... Until everything is a blur Feeling so right for doing something that's so wrong I throw my hands up in the air without any care whatsoever I'm going downhill Don't be a downdrag Uplift me if you will You threw me out like a filthy rag Life is a game of never-ending tag Chorus: Dancing like whatever, not caring about the crowd and their judgmental views in life You ruined my self-esteem, but baby you're still on my team...we're on each other's team For it's we against the world it's we against the world it's me against the world We need to learn to forget and forgive the past and move forward to a bright future without a trace of strife For it's we against the world it's we against the world for it's me against the world You won't push me down because I will rise up again...I will be your perfect storm that is shining agleam For it's me against the world it's not we against the world... it's me against the world Verse 2: Make me feel like I am someone that's more significant Make me feel like the hidden treasure chest in the island of isolated illumination You're the giant of graceful boldness and I am that poor, puny and pathetic ant You shouldn't worry about a thing for I look after myself as long as you give me all-remaining jubilation without any hesitation You don't have to try to impress me, but to express to me the progress you're making so far You and I need to listen to His instruction and do what He says more often than not I understand that taking His correction is hard to do with immediate joy, but He will heal our every scar You and I need some protection from the demons that cast their deceptive spells on us a lot God will not leave us as an empty lot Also, I'm pretty sure He wouldn't leave us to rot Pre-chorus: I don't want you to consider me as the one that got away I lost all hopes and trying to help this heart that beats so much and it's led astray Messaging friends all night long Till my eyes begin to swelter and grow so fatigued... Until everything is a blur Feeling so right for doing something that's so wrong I throw my hands up in the air without any care whatsoever I'm going downhill Don't be a downdrag Uplift me if you will You threw me out like a filthy rag Life is a game of never-ending tag Chorus: Dancing like whatever, not caring about the crowd and their judgmental views in life You ruined my self-esteem, but baby you're still on my team...we're on each other's team For it's we against the world it's we against the world it's me against the world We need to learn to forget and forgive the past and move forward to a bright future without a trace of strife For it's we against the world it's we against the world for it's me against the world You won't push me down because I will rise up again...I will be your perfect storm that is shining agleam For it's me against the world it's not we against the world... it's me against the world Verse 3: I don't want to face the wrath of the Lord, but I must face my fears I have to repent for all the sins I've committed or I'll drown miserably in these pain-inspired tears Sift out the regrets that I have carried with me forever it seems
