Scarlet ribbons and virgin white,
Adorning maypoles crowned with green.
Springs festival evokes delight.
Through mists of time this pagan rite,
Still celebrates it's Mayday Queen.
Scarlet ribbons and virgin white,
Young maids, entwining to excite.
Hornpipes, with drum and tambourine,
Springs festival evokes delight.
Bestowing blessings day and night,
Bouquets of flowers fill the scene.
Scarlet ribbons and virgin white,
With blue intwined, graceful in flight.
Mayday, shows love is evergreen.
Springs festival evokes delight.
Maypoles, our symbols to unite,
The gift of life we make between,
Scarlet ribbons and virgin white,
