i'm down too often
i miss you as well
some things rekindle a gentle hell
the flame we cherish
the names you miss as well
the shame you kiss
when you're brought to this
we're just people
all too good

nothing outstanding
or too original
did you miss my smile
the songs i sang
while all the while
they were just portraits
of a broken man
I know you too
soft and purple
a cherry bruise
this reminds me
of the hell we lose
and we're just people
in a broken world
