Maybe It Is Time For a Change

The world my friend I cannot change,
But my way of thinking I can rearrange.

First I will stop believing what I hear,
Second I will only believe part of what I see, even when I think I see it clear.

I’ll place my trust just out of reach,
And not be swayed by looks or speech.

And if I harden my heart and make it as cold as a stone,
Or better yet just keep to myself and stay alone.

Well I’ve thought it over and that’s not for me,
For I love my friends and I couldn’t make it without my family.

So I guess if you fool me once you’ll probably do it twice,
It’s not that I’m that easy I guess I’m just not that concise.

I guess I’m happy just being me,
Cause that’s who I am, and that’s who God intended me to be.

To live my life as best I can and fellowship with others as I traverse this land,
To serve my Lord as best I can and offer others an outstretched hand.

This way when my day is done,
This battle called life I’ll feel I’ve won.

But until that day it comes along I pray God keeps my spirit strong,
So I can praise Him with words and song and guide me on the path where I belong.
