Notes About The Poem

May I Help You

May I help You

The man on the phone took too long.
Really it was the machine’s fault.
I was angry, not at the man,
really, not at the machine.

I was angry at the computer.
Not the computer machine that tried to answer my plea,
Although it did take at least an hour, to power my drive…
From there, I was on… all burners to the moon.

If I could I would drag the box outside, not quietly.
I would throw it with all my worth across the yard.
Considering shooting it in the city limits, may not be…
the best course of action at this point.

So.
I ran it over.

I am no longer unhappy with the machine,
that could not help me on the phone.
I have taken away the reason for my actions.
I am sorry to the man I was upset with,
as he was so far away, and I hated…
every second of the call.
I needed a hero, or a sympathetic tech…

I will never buy another one. (angry strong voice)
Until tomorrow. (soft weepy say voice)

sometimes we all feel that way through frustration...i hate calling somewhere and having automated voices giving me prompts, sometimes you just need someone right away...good penning :) hugs

It is an effort not to become to upset with a live person once you reach them. The machine picks at you and frustrates you, then the poor person comes on. So sad. Then they can not help you. Well. I was told, not my computer, not my router, not my modem, not windows 10 (even though the error is all over the net) . I asked what was left... He was so smart. He said the file I was working with. He was right. It was corrupt. Remember you always need a base line. I only had one file. I should have replaced it first, then started deconstruction of my entire system. LOL... Hugs today... Hugs every day... Heaven is coming. Smile. Ann
