Maverick Woman An American Sonnet
If I danced in the middle of the road
would you grab me or say ‘Go faster’?
Take a chance on a hitchhike across town
or go back afraid of what you may find?
Bohemian hearts wrapped in map pages
hold each destination’s stamp so tight;
I’m chasing the tide I welcome that ride,
life’s a joy as a Maverick woman;
When there is a risk I can’t hit the brakes
I gravitate to and chase adventure;
Bated with a look at a mile high wave,
man let’s go who cares about tomorrow?
Free spirited flights of fancy for life,
riding rogues as a Maverick woman.
