Maturnum
Maturnum
Fragrance of flowers in the warm sunshine
Petals to coddle, bumblebees in time
Curious roots find their way to nurture
Through soil placed by her hand; good nature
Her heart brings tenderness, truth to the soul
Giving peace to children, forever whole
The Blessed beside her, whispers His alms
“Thank you for the smile on these dear lambs?”
Sweet trials grow the most wonderful stems
Though the Breeze may blow strong through the tree limbs
Bringing the joys of James in bewilderment
Cry the children, “Fetch the rod and the serpent!”
“Pax maternum, ergo pax familiarum”
With all my heart, dear Mother, “pace aeternum”
