Masterpiece

It was I who was once a block of stone
The finest of marble i was told.
His gaze would last for hours
As i waited to be created.

Then came the day when he started chipping away
Only he knew what i was to become
I was his unfinished creation
As yet known to none.

Many days passed
My soul already there
He gave me a body
My full form soon to appear.

I stole a glance of myself in a mirror
My face gently touched by moonlight
I looked soft yet gallant
An interpretation of perfection.

There i was complete
Soon to be put to the world
A marvel made for display
For all to see.

He stood gazing at me
I could tell he was pleased
My creator,a genius
Another mark on history.

Crowds stood in awe
At my magnificent reveal
I was named David
My destiny then sealed.
