Masquerade

The mask wears a smile for all to see
painted in brilliant red
Eyes that sparkle with glittered ease
that never a tear has shed

Cheeks adorned perfectly in rosy hue

Hi Deb, seems I lose track of you and then fortunately find you again. Isn't it true w all have a mask to wear when it is convenient. I have been guilty too. Great thought in this!

Should we pretend or is "what you see is what you get" the better way. Good question Debra but probably has no answers. So cool to think on! :)

Debra, it is hard to keep wearing that mask, trying to fool others when we are adults. However, children need no masks of joy - as you say they have not faced oppression yet. Excellent flow and perfect rhyme just add to the significance of this message about youth and innocence. Awesome! Love, Carolyn

This is really good, Debra. But that mask still can't compare to the real thing!

One often hides behind a mask of pretense of "everything is fine"...."I'm fine'....EVEN when they are not. That was my intent anyway. Thanks for dropping by !!
