Masks

Masks

People laugh at jokes not funny to fit in
They don't care how others feel, but ask them how they've been
They show up at functions when we don't want to go
They dislike some people, but never let it show

Life has become for many just a masquerade
They often don't like something, yet complements are paid
They hope that other people their true feelings won't detect
It is more important to be politically correct

Why is it so hard for some to face up to the task
Of addressing things with honesty, step from behind the mask

So true....these are masks we all wear every day, in every walk of life. Somehow the world hides behind a false front, indeed rather sad to think we cannot feel trust enough to be ourselves. Congrats, Bob, on insightful observations!

YOu did an excellent job discussing the masks people wear.As frank as I try to be, I even am guilty of doing a few of these things just a little! GREAT job.
