Masks
My closet is full of many masks I can choose to wear
For my true face I would never share
Each day I awaken
I look to see which mask I want to put on me
Which one do I want to choose
Do I want to make people laugh today
do I want to console someone who has had a loss
Do I want to act wild and free
It is so very hard not to show the real me
People do not want to see
What lies deeply in me
My pain I keep hidden away
Showing the world what they want to see
My masks are to make people's lives better
For that is what I want them to see
I always put the world before me
I am no one when I stand alone
but my masks are made intricately
to fill the voids people have within them
To take away any sad feeling they have within their hearts
For my quest's in life has always been
to bring happiness and love to people all around me..
