Masks

We tend to wear masks, at different times
to hide our pain and true feelings
Emotions are hard to deal with sometimes
Wearing them can be rather healing

We hide behind these masks, you see
Our masks, they make us feel brave
Allows us to be who we want to be
It even changes the way we behave

Our masks, they hide our imperfections
And ease our own doubts and fears
They help us avoid societies dissection
Used many times over the years

We create these masks throughout our lives
They helped us get through our past trauma
Wearing a mask has helped us survive
And let's us step away from life's drama

Be wary of the mask that you choose to wear
it can hide the real you from sight
Reveal your authentic self, if you dare
You'll find out that YOU are all right

Hello Mary Taylor, I just read this poem. You have good advice here. Enjoy your day my friend. Too many people hide in their masks.
