Masked

You may think I'm genuine
you may think I'm sincere
but I'm a talented worker
and this is my career

Forever and always
I'll be wearing disguises
I pretend for survival
the truth never rises

I play at this game
to avoid getting hurt
I won't quit I won't falter
I'm on the alert

I'll never stop faking
I can't show what I feel
emotion is weakness
so I hide what is real

Always calm and collected
or so I may seem
I work hard to make perfect
an act that's supreme

I'm flawless, I'm stunning
never questioned or asked
just don't believe what you see
because I am masked
