Masava

Masava

(Soil=Umhlaba)

Between these many a rolling mountain
Foundation let me lay; let me maintain....
From old self let the umbilical code fall
Let my antenatal ignorance yield thrall-
Underneath this soil with loam so fertile
(No inanimate rock may remain sterile)
Seeds let me sow; toil mutely endure...
Insipid morn to rupture with new verdure!

**Masava is pun for Mashava; meaning soil in Shangaan.
