Mary Disappears Pt 2

continued from Pt 1 Exactly one year and at midnight, when she turned twenty one, Was the darkest of nights that had ever been since time had begun. There came a great storm and when the lightning did strike, caused that mirror to light up and begin to vibrate and hum with delight. . Rain was pouring and from the tin roof water was filling a drum. The greater the storm, the greater the hum. From the bed, Mary wanted to get up and run. But she seem to be paralized and just layed there and watched stunned. Oh the things she saw would have made your hair rise. Maybe even caused you to go blind in both eyes. It seemed like hours but was only a minute, then Mary felt very strange. What was happening? She was floating and the mirror was in range. As she neared it, it seemed to open it's arms and embrace her. She was disappearing into the glass, looking into the distance far. And as she left, she felt the most wonderful peace she had ever known. Mary disappeared and no one knew where she had gone. Her twenty first birthday, people came to celebrate. They couldn't find Mary and they were all in a state. They looked in her bedroom and her bed was in place. But her new mirror was gone and there was no trace. Speculations were that Mary longed to live in a future day. Maybe even travel through space in the sun's ray. But wherever Mary went that mirror's there too. And maybe someday it will bring her back when her traveling's through!
