Marked

I have a flaw,
one visible for all to see.
 I can't run from it,
because it burns through me.
 Its soft and round,
easily found.
 It sticks out,
without any doubt.
 It centers around my forehead.
I see it every day within my reflection,
I turn my head away in dismay.
This mark I was born with,
 that I can not dismiss.
I do not know why its there,
 or what it means.
All I know is that it haunts my dreams.
 This flaw, this mark,
so red and dark.
 Its left there to bare,
for all to see.
 An imperfect me.
Beyond anything, I want it gone.
 This mark of mine,
one I can never hide.

Aww Amanda... Shallow people will only judge by what they can see! Here at poetry soup surely we have deeper thinkers! Don't worry about it... Good write nevertheless!... God bless you child ... Love Diana
