Marital Decline

Marital decline

Dreams of love have had their day
or so it seems of late,
all the times once joined and shared
          are turning into hate.

Words no longer fill the void
          as earth and moon collide,
like cancer creeping through your soul
          that festers deep inside.

Pain now fills each waking day
and does not wane at night,
yet still you try to keep alive
a past now out of sight.

They may need to set their "phones" aside and communicate a bit more often. We are "all" loosing our ability to "share" our thoughts and desires with one another. It's a shame our culture is defined by our screen time memories. oldbuck

Thank you Emilia, it is almost as hard to write about it as live with it. Living goes on the same way, leaving ones words stuck in time. Ghosts indeed! Tim

Is so very sad when a relationship once filled with love turns to hatred and pain. Many will relate to your poem, Emilia : )
