Maria's Stars

All the shine of a thousand stars can't keep me away from you
though I know that one day we'll be free and together at last
it is hard to believe that your gone like a morning's 1st dawn
what am I to do when the stars leave their dew, on you ?

When the nights are cold and the stars have lost their glow
though the memory of you is as fading as old photographs
all these tears that I shed are the tears of a broken soul
what am I to do when the stars leave their dew, on you ?

If only one night I could lie by your side like I did in old times
though I miss you sweet face and can never erase
all the love in my heart that was yours from the start
what am I to do when the stars leave their dew, on you ?

All the shine of a thousand stars can't keep me away from you
what am I to do when the stars leave their dew, on you ?
will I try to rescind like the wind be a leaf at your door
will I sleep on your pillow tonight or ask God for more?

All the shine of a thousand stars can't keep me away from you
though I know that one day we'll be free and together at last
it is hard to believe that your gone like the mornings 1st dawn
what am I to do when the stars leave their dew, only on you.

Dearest Vie, your poem is a tender and haunting expression of longing and love's enduring presence, even in the face of loss. The imagery of "stars leaving their dew" is both beautiful and poignant, symbolizing memories that linger like morning mist. Your words capture the ache of separation and the quiet hope of eventual reunion. There's a timeless, almost celestial quality to it, as though love itself is woven into the fabric of the night sky. This piece resonates deeply, as it speaks to anyone who has loved and lost, yet holds onto hope like a glimmering star. A fave for sure xxx
