Map of Emotions

If I could dive inside your head,
And reach the map of your mind
I’d find a road that’s endless
A place that’s hard to find

Your map, it does confuse me
The roads are long and winding
Twisting one way, then the other
None ceasing up hill climbing

Don’t think I’ll ever reach you
Your mind is a one way street
An area strictly out of bounds
I sense your building heat

Here we are now, face to face,
Between us an emotional barrier,
Should I put up the fight of my life?
Take flight, you are no warrior

So I drive in the other direction
To avoid the head on collision
Steering clear of conflict,
Till I have clearer vision.
