Many Years Later

Many Years Later

I look over at you in your sleep
Your eyes closed in rest for the night
Your deep and steady breathing
Knowing in slumber all is just right

You may not even realize
The great love that is felt for you
And the feelings you give in return…
 The most wonderful love for me too

You gave me your heart some time back
I gave you mine in all faith and trust
And we became one not long after
Because our love was so strong and just

Now many years later we still feel the same
Our love holding so true and so strong
I thank God that we found each other
Who would have thought love lasting so long?

We pledged our love to each other
And we still have the  love light shine
Until death finally parts us
We continue our love for all time

So I look at you in your slumber
And I thank God for you every night
For all you give me each day
The love we share is a wonderful sight
