Mans Best Friend

Perhaps I'll go outside today
if someone lets me out
or maybe I'll just stay in bed
and sleep a fair amount.
I wonder whats for dinner
or if I'll get a bath..
If somone will get mad at me
for straying from the path.

These walls are all around me
in this world of fog.
Why couldn't I be human
and not a blessed dog.
Yes I'm a little Beagle.
Cute as cute could be.
A prisoner in this basement.
Four walls made of concrete.

I don't get hot water
or a fresh new set of clothes.
I'm lucky if my master
squirts me with a hose.
So the next time you start whining
cause you think your lifes so blue.
Remember you brought it on yourself. I
t's all because your'e you!

Me I am a little prisoner
and innocent at that.
My life pretty much sucks
but at least I'm not a cat.....
