Man De Ya
Man De Ya***
Towering over self-beguilement
To achieve an inner contentment;
Pardon turned him a pure Gent
Earthily, but wholly God-sent!
Where he could have chosen wrath
He followed Humility’s path!
World is closed- we are bereaved.
Family, Friends- we are aggrieved.
***During Nelson Mandela’s early days as President of SA and upon visiting Jamaica, revered Poets in that country had a clever pun out of his name; “Man De Ya” meaning, “The Man is Here!”
