Mama Deer

Mama deer pranced diffidently
checking the meadow for man’s smell
Her spotted fawn trots along
unaware of danger
checking out the food
of pure and sweet
glorious
verdant
grasses

Such a sleek peaceful being of the woodlands; I do love deer (alive that is); great piece of work.

A lovely scene portrayed in this Nonet Caren. I have been around friendly deer at the Grand Canyon who are used to people and they come right up to you. It was delightful. xxoo

Thank you Connie. I found myself walking next to a deer in a forest once; she was not frightened of me at all. I heard her footsteps in the grass before I looked over and saw her. She did not seem aware I was even there.

What lovely imagery, so few words display such a vivid scene caren, an absolutely charming poem to go into my faves:-) The title reminded me of an old book but the spelling of deer is totally different:-) hugs Jan xx

Thank you Anne-Lise. I had fun writing this one. When I doubt I always throw down something about a deer.
