Making a Monument and Leaving a Legacy

I remember how every word fell just like the tears that filled our eyes How everyone was a good enough reason to retry I remember how every lie fed the fire in me I remember how I led myself to believe believing all the lies never reading in between the lines leading myself on Laying my crown at the wrong feet so willing and so ready So lost and unbelieving I saw the last storm cloud I saw the star burn out I remeber how my words fell without meaning I remember how my love went out so wastefully I remember how much it hurt to turn away I remember the hurt of every promised day
