Make Your Own Rules

The world loves dictating terms
          To keep you in check
         And in line; telling you
          Who you ought to be
      But you have the freedom
                      To zig
                  When told
                     To zag.
Listen to your inner voice instead.
           Make your own rules.

Edward, I truly understand the spirit behind your idea, but I'm not sure it's always a good idea to "Make Your Own Rules." I can imagine chaos on the highways and in classrooms, for example! Thought-provoking, though.

Oh, I see what you're saying, Milt, and I agree! I was rather addressing a certain age demographic--responsible, mature adults with sound judgement--not all and sundry. I guess I should've made it clear, lol. Thanks for the visit, my friend.
