Make It Through

I see the pain in your eyes,
And you should know I've been there too.
All you tell is lies,
Just to make it through.

I want to make your pain go away,
I want it to haunt you never again.
I want you to stay,
So I can help stop your sufferin.

But your stubborn and fearless,
Loveable, but careless.
You try to convince me
That none of this is so,
You tell me to leave it be,
And I do so you won't go.

But, I still worry about you,
Night and Day.
I hope it is soon,
That I can help find a way,
To where you won't have to lie,
And waste away
Just to make it through
Another day.

It's hard to see a loved one suffering and not willing to let you in to give them emotional support. I feel the pain on both sides and can relate to it. Good poem and welcome to the soup
