Make It Last

Sing to the tune of "Twelfth Of Never" by Johnny Mathis
Wrtten for my wife on her birthday. Hope someone remembers
the tune to Twelfth Of Never.

MAKE IT LAST (A SONG FOR SUE) My heart will flame forever love's fire I know Or maybe even longer as love will grow. Someone said when you fall in love time flies right by! That one someone I know was telling no lie. (chorus) Make it last, longer than forever, Make it last, strong so wrong can't ever sever. I'll make forever linger in one embrace Make love next to the garden and share its grace To make my lover happy in every way. Will make our love forever so let's begin today. A scent of sweet gardenias rides soft the breeze The bouquet lifted up above the poplar trees. And no one knows exactly where that bouquet grows; It's just an aromatic from magic flower shows. (chorus) Make it last, longer than forever Make it last, strong so wrong can't ever sever. I see the shadow beauty of childhood games She's playing close behind you; then calls your name. This little girl becoming the stunning grown up you; perfection in a lover who grew to love me true. I watch you walk before me long legs in stride I still am like a virgin whose mind can't hold such pride Your body is erotic in every single move A heavenly narcotic that puts me in love's groove. (chorus) Make it last, longer than forever Make it last, strong so wrong can't ever sever.
