Mainstream
She's become mainstream
She's been sampled and mixed
lacks soul
Her beat is not the same
Manufactured by society
Original is no longer attached to her name
A product of a million things but not one
Such a waste of talent
Sell out
Bubble-gum act
Can't break it down
Repeats herself
Not so deep
Her heart wants to reconnect
But fears it's too late
She has already lost her former audience
They turned their backs on her
She doesn't blame them
But she makes her living
She carries on
Cause people tell her it's safe this way
She's manipulated into something new
But her spirit is still old
Eventually she'll become a broken record
But her heart will always remain platinum
