Maiden's Stand

With laden heart her feet now tread down winding paths filled with dread avoiding the bruises pebbles shed upon unworldly maidens head Sticks hurled may not break bones nor words spoken from sharpness honed from magazines her appearance un-cloned her individuality, resigned, walks alone Piers, self-proclaimed, never understand avoiding the touch of unsullied hands the tune she hears from her own band with dignity and honor she stands

Interesting write Debra - makes me ponder and wonder whether tha Maiden is happy with her stance, marching to the tune of her own band, or lonely in the path she took? She stands with "dignity and honor" yet has a "laden heart" and dreads the winding path she takes. Ah, such is the enigma of life - well captured in you sweet flowing and well-rhymed verse. Nicely done. Joe

Everyone must pick and choose. To be happy or sing the blues. But we both know the pain inside can be a long and lonely ride. So once again, I'll bid you peace. And may your heart know loves increase.
