Madness
As my madness settles in,
nice and cozy, it starts to dig in,
to my sanity, small and fleeting,
while I sit here, my heart beating,
I see the names that I've transcribed,
into my soul, the ones that I love, and ones that have died,
my sanity, eaten away
while my madness sits, as if at play,
it chews and it swallows my sanity and joy,
I sit and smile and try to be coy,
to fool those around me, to shelter them from me,
the pure insanity
that ebbs and flows inside my soul,
the one thing that once made me whole
breaks me apart once again,
the love turns to madness, becomes just another grain
on this sandy beach of crazy feelings,
I think back on all the things,
that I said, the things I meant,
I thought you would buy, but you only wanted my heart for the rent
as I sit here, feeling so blue,
I erase my I love you
