Madness

Silence slowly creeps through the budgie cage.
Not one movement to compliment my rage.
It is them and I in a quiet room;
Bird feathers clinging to a bristle broom.

Are these birds able to listen to me?
My frantic madness needs some company!
Singing, grinding, chirping, anything will do,
A simple acknowledgement, not a zoo.

Hello, pretty bird, what do you have to say?
You are quiet in the nighttime, not day.
Need I shake the cage to get a nice spark,
In helping me through this shivering dark?

I see you turn your little heads at me,
Please do tell me what it is now you see!
