Lunching Lions

Two lions lay down by the dry riverbed It’s been such a long time since either had fed One hungry lion then looked up and said A vulture is circling the sky overhead His friend just rolled over and lay on his back His tongue lolloped out and his body went slack But then with a grin, one eye opened a crack He said I won’t give that old vulture a snack We lions are kings of this African nation So play dead like me and we’ll end our starvation This fight for survival, we’re going to win it That vulture up there will be down in a minute

Thanks, Ilene. Can’t take credit for the gag…. It’s based on a very old joke… but i think it stands the test of time. Terry

The worst smell on this planet is a vulture's nest, so your lions are in for a real shock! Aloha!

Somewhere on the internet you will find a photo I took of turkey vulture nestlings whose downy feathers would be the highlight of any woman's appearance were it not for the stench which would shame a skunk! Aloha!

Thanks, Milt. Written as my second V (for vulture) in my A-Z (boy, will I be glad to get it done) but thought the gag might escape a youngster. Hope to be back among you all soon. I just got this itch I gotta scratch, but it’s nearly there. Terry
