Lunch With Maria
Catching up with an old friend,
it's like it was yesterday.
Though its been years since we sat and talked.
Life got in the way.
But conversation flows so easy.
It's like that with the right friends.
Because even if you rarely see them
that friendship never ends.
We always promise the same thing,
to not wait so long next time.
And at our age we'd better heed
as that ladder of age we climb.
They say with friendships of this length,
they're not just friends but family
and I agree this is true
because that describes you and me.
