Lucy
Extremely temperamental
she preens and poses like
a princess with a secret.
Conceited and remote,
she craves attention
and cries until she gets it.
Soft to the touch
she cuddles closely
when I hold her in my arms.
She loves to eat, yet
maintains her slender figure,
so trim, so debonair!
She's not easy to live with
but she's worth it,
despite her fickle nature,
her scratchy claws
and my urge to sneeze,
my heart is hers to keep!
