Loyalty and Trust

Keep loyalty for only yourself
forget what they say
be true to you not someone else
and do it your way

Be aware you’re valuable
it’s why they value you
when weakened and vulnerable
see if they value you

Don’t assume if you give you get
when you give they soon forget
you don’t get served what you deserve
but you can serve with held nerve

At the end of the day only you have your back
they say they do but it’s words an act
a statement of false they'll soon take back
when comes the day they need to act

I’ve witnessed people be traitors
watched bitter friendships turn to hatred
I’ve seen true colours and said laters
and experienced life frustrated

One man respects
another man rejects
one man appreciates
another retaliates

I’ve learnt to be loyal to only myself
trust wears til it's where in someone else
I’ve learnt to walk alone and free
with loyalty and trust for only me
