Loving From Afar
My tear-stained face no longer lights up the room.
Steady rain still falls but the flowers don't bloom.
The world is full of darkness, more than I ever knew.
And the rain won't stop falling, all of this because of you.
There was a light in your eyes, so much promise within.
But the night you walked out, on your face was a grin.
You were hiding pain and hiding fear, most of all, hiding love.
Remember how beautiful I was? As if sent from above.
Things are different now that you're gone, it's me leaning on me.
My heart is aching, tears are falling, are you too blind to see?
How do you show someone you love them if they won't give you a chance?
My heart is screaming out your name, PLEASE, just one more glance.
Then I will make it through tomorrow, fill my heart up with hope.
But the next day when I don't hear from you, I won't know how to cope.
This game called love-I'm losing. Or wait, maybe not.
I'm supposed to love you from afar. I can't believe that I forgot.
