I carried the weight of the world upon my shoulders.
Heavy did it press me down like boulders.
I paused with love and weary sat awhile
to rest with her and share a friendly smile.
I watched the weight I carried slow dissolve
into a growing strength from love’s resolve.
I rose to move upon my way more free,
surprised to feel the weight removed from me.
For Lo, the world remained the same, not having changed one bit,
without the added weight I bore from other people’s [stuff]
