Love's Illusion

Love feels like an illusion:
a delusional fantasy dream,
both magical and surreal.
A sensual ploy utilized by lust
to steal a kiss:
passion's flame
burns hotter than fire,
until reality kicks in.
Suddenly, forever feelings end:
and trust falls apart
chasing shadows,
cast by neon lights.
For what is love,
but a promise of bliss;
garnered from desire's
whispered lie?
