Love's Golden Years
I sit awake listening to you snore
It’s a scene I’ve witnessed many times before
I’m used to it so I just ignore
After all these years you still deny this flaw
In the moonlight your face looks blue
You wear a creamy, cool hue
I love being this close to you
And you snore even more
But tonight I must adore
I dont want to sleep in the spare next door
I love you all these years
Wrinkles and grey hairs
Failing eyesight and ears,
Old age and hunchback, I’m yours
I’ve seen this moment 30 years ago
How you've aged so gracefully my gogo
When I made a vow for rich or poor
When we shared a drink from the same straw
And when you didn’t snore
