Love's Debut
It seems he's been lying
and your dreams are dying,
while constantly trying
to start anew.
You let him walk away
to his utter dismay;
love's merely a cliché
that hearts pursue.
Happiness was fleeting
and your heart is bleeding;
for he was caught cheating,
and can't redo.
Forever thoughts frighten:
anxieties heighten
and defenses tighten;
as tears ensue.
You feel you're all alone
confronting the unknown
within the Twilight Zone;
fearing that's true.
Someday, you will restart
your search for a sweetheart;
and watch your doubts depart
on love's debut.
