Love's Aftermath

It’s the one’s that we hurt
Although we don’t try
Ripping their world
Leaving questions of “why”

Moving carefully
Always looking back
Cautiously stepping
Trying to use tact

Painful disillusion
From what can not be
Maybe good for you
But not good for me

The pain still comes
To those in our path
There is no avoiding
Love’s aftermath
