Lovers Holiday

Lovers Holiday

I see the lovers loving as they all make their way.
But there’s no one for me on this lovers holiday.
I think of many others like gifts from up above.
That I see every now and then that taught me about love.

There must be somebody that could use some love like mine.
So I sent cards and letters saying be my Valentine.
When it all was over so much better than before.
I had a hundred Valentines still I wanted more.

One thing that life has taught me it’s all about the giving.
I thought about the elderly where it’s called assisted living.
I bought two dozen roses and I watched them start to shine.
Passing up and down the halls for one more Valentine.

I held so many hands that day and whispered I love you.
As lonely people looked at me and said I love you too.
Loving is not so simple that only two can share.
Show a Valentine today how much you really care.

Very beautiful write, and what an uplifting thought is there, Edwin. I love the easy rhyme and the positive feel here. Indeed, there's no law against universal love on valentines...Smiles at dawn from the land of thousand isles :D Kim

Thank you Kim! There's no reason not to have a full heart even when we're alone. Ed
