Lovers Dance Dream

We were the talk of the town
Danced all round and round
Spinning and spinning in a trance
We did it for love and romance

People watching seeing us care
Gently holding here and there
Sharing moments face to face
Dreamt in love's sweet embrace

Now that we're winding down
You're still the queen with the crown
Memories of twirling you around
Makes my aging heart softly pound

We were the talk of the town
Danced all round and round
Spinning and spinning in a trance
We did it for love and romance

Suz, thanks so much. If we were to meet, with your permission of course, I'd love to give you a dance spin.

This reminds me of my sweet father who liked nothing more than to dance and prance and give us those sideways smiles that made us know everything would be okay, because he exuded happiness.

So sorry Caren I missed your sweet comment. Your father was one of those lucky few who knew happiness. And shared it with you in those sideways smiles. Thank you for your heartfelt comment.

- A wonderful dance with your loved one, Greg :) - We all deserve to experience true love, which makes us happy :) - Love sometimes hurts, but it never causes harm intentionally :) - In other words, to love someone good you must love yourself and be prepared for everything :) - Congratulations on your winning poem :) - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

I often reflect on a time when I was slow dancing to "Careless Whispers" by George Michael. Sometimes songs set a terrific mood for romance. I'll let you teach me to fox trot!

Carolyn, thanks for your kind remarks. I bet you made a lovely spin as a dance partner on many a occasion. Fox trotting hugs to you.

Greg, your romantic poem, that so sweetly speaks of an ageless love for a woman who still makes an 'aging heart softly pound', is indeed swoon-worthy poetry. Beautiful and sentimental. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Susan, your insightful commentary means so much to me. Thank you so much. In matters of the heart, your work is singular. If my verse can touch one soul, it has done well.
