Lovers Dance

Mother earth comes alive
To the pleasing sound
As the sacred drum
Starts to pound

The drum beat flows
Through the meadow grasses
The wind filled with our elder’s songs
As it gently passes

The trees sway in motion
As couples dance about
In reverence to our creator
In his presence there’s no doubt

Gentle footfalls placed
In rhythmic grace
As I dance around the circle
With a smile on my face

Joyous laughter fills the air
But happiest of all, must be mine
Because I’m dancing with my love
To our favorite 49
