Lovers

Lovers by Edmund Siejka When they embrace He holds her tightly Whispering her name. She breathes deeply Kissing and kissing him Again, and again Her soul lost In the secret of the night. Feeling him move inside They are one His arms around her waist Hers on his back Moving, moving Always moving In a lover’s rhythm Promising Love. He leaves But not before They share a last kiss. In the chilly morning Her bed is damp and empty Cold, she wraps the blanket around her The same warm blanket That captured his being. Alone she gets up Her mind busy With a hundred things She must do. Outside The sun rises Reminding her It’s just another day.
