Notes About The Poem

Jenny is the second one down. This is from around 1963!

(I'm the dorky looking one at the top!)

JENNIIFER TODAY

Lovely Jenny

My sister Jennifer Ellen - sweet Jenny Wren, like a mother hen, is my comfort. She was born two years after me. Though I’m the eldest - the teacher - she is the one in our family who nurtures us when we feel blue. But also she is a lioness! Once she rushed to defend me from the cruel remarks of a stranger - a heartless man who attacked the soul of me -my poetry. Lovely Jenny; in a room bursting with activity, she’s the one in the corner who is holding the outcast’s hand. Written Jan. 6, 2016

Dear Sis, thanks for this poem, it makes me so proud to be that mother hen and a lioness. So proud to be your sister and I will always love you and your poetry because it comes from your tender heart.

Also, Jenny looks a lot like the sister on left in the first row. I picked you out before I even read, the serious looking Virgo (actually from adult pics I've seen of you)! I hope everything is okay with Jenny, that no incident inspired this. Oh - is it for 'sister' contest? ... CayCay commenting again

Well Andrea, we ALL looked dorky at that age...You should see some of MINE! On second thought, no, you SHOULD'T see some of mine! Which one is Jenny? A nurturer yet a lioness...She must be some kinda lady as is her older sister of course. Have you ever read the poem 'Jenny kissed me?' If not, I will Soup it to you... Wonderful tribute my friend! - Tim

Hi Andrea: Being the youngest of 4 brothers and one sister, I always related to my sister who was 5 years my senior. She taught me so much and she was tough with 4 older brothers to contend with. This is a nice tribute "de su hermana".

I can feel the love in your lines, Andie! It must be wonderful to belong to a family with several female siblings. Yes, one notices that nurturing comes naturally to the quieter ones. PS. Spellcheck on "attacked". I hope it's ok here. hugs!
