Loveless One

Sweet young girl what draws you to me.
Is it a laugh between friends.
The ocean goes far beyond were the eyes can see.

Are you but a dreamer who's lost in the dark
searching for the sun.
How I yern to tell you it just get's better
my loveless one.

Tears in eyes head in hands.
So many stops along the road.
Broken souls and one night stands.

I can see you when not here.
A jukebox cuts the sadness.
Fools cling to the past like a drunk
clings to a beer.

The bitter mans heart crashes to the floor
not leaving behind a trace.
I wake to emptyness after dreaming of your
embrace.

From the pages I wish you to to
read into the empty arms I wish you'd
run.
To cast away the sorrows
my sweet loveless one.

You have so much love and compassion in your heart, John. All dreamers who are "lost in the dark" should have a champion like you. Great poem! Love, Carolyn
