Notes About The Poem

TANKACROSTIC
Created by Andrea Dietrich. You need to think up a five-letter word and begin each line with the letter that will spell out your word (like in acrostic poetry). You must write the lines with TANKA syllable count: 5/7/5/7/7. In addition to that, try to employ rhyme at least a little bit. For example, you could have rhyme schemes like a/a/b/a/b or a/b/a/b/a or a/b/b/a/a or even a/b/c/a/c or something else. The title should be ALL CAPS.

Loved

Love is a collage
Of dreams, unlike a mirage,
Vague, and yet precise...
Even sharing a massage
Done with love, gets enjoyed twice.

Emile, this is so nice. As I told a few other winners like you, this would have placed higher if you had used a one-word title. Other than that, I loved this poem. Also, thanks so much for putting up the info on it being an invented form of mine. That was so nice of you!!

It was a new profession for me after I retired from the ministry. I had a practice in Blackburg, VA. Loved it, but had to close my office when my mother-in-law began to suffer from dementia and I became her primary caregiver.
